Event Details

Welcome to the Celebratory Boundaries and Platonic Cuddle Workshop! A space where people come to relax in a welcoming environment and get safe and experiential practice with boundaries. This occurs through exercises, paired practice, and facilitated time for self-discovery. (Giving, receiving, and negotiating touch in a way that supports feeling connected and whole.)

This event is a guided social experience that includes a welcome circle, relaxation/grounding activities, boundary-setting exercises, the care-celebration model of consent, and touch etiquette.

Our container-building exercises end with the "cuddle laboratory." Open social time for relaxation, touch and self-discovery.

Touch is available, AND never a requirement, always consensual, and always platonic/G-rated.

I believe you'll experience an increased sense of well-being, belonging, and playfulness. Setting boundaries and/or cuddling, we do a lot of good.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Hello, my name is Zap! I am Cuddle Sanctuary Event Leadership Certified and I regularly attend cuddle classes outside of the ones I facilitate. I facilitate and attend for the boundary practice and the hugs. I truly believe both boundaries and hugs are like water, I need more daily.

I facilitate events to share the healing power of using words to ask for what we want and decline that which we do not. As well as to share the non-physical and physical connection that makes life worth living.

I am a Black, asexual, and genderqueer 🏳️‍⚧️ individual. I am an African person who feels passionate thinking about making sensitive workshops available for indigenous, asexual, POC, disabled, low-income, neurodivergent, and/or genderqueer folx.

ATTENDANCE / WHAT TO WEAR

Please come freshly showered and clean, free of perfumes and smoke.Dress in clothes that are comfortable, cotton t-shirts, sweatpants, and leggings are all welcome.

A full-length tank top and knee-length shorts is the minimum amount of clothing admittable.

GUIDELINES

These guidelines are like the “etiquette of touch." We’ll go over all of them and answer any questions you have during the event. Here are some important ones:

· There is touch opportunity AND there is no touch required.

· You are encouraged to change your mind at any time.

· Respect boundaries with enthusiasm! (And we will practice this!)

· Keep all touch Rated G and conversation at PG. At all times this event is kid-friendly.

· Ask and Wait - if you want to touch someone, ask. Then, wait for the answer.

· Keep attendance confidential (unless given permission).

Practice activities for these guidelines and more ensure that the guidelines are felt and embodied before the opportunity for touch or no-touch cuddling begins.

WHAT TO BRING?

· You are welcome to bring a pillow, blanket, and or yoga mat to contribute to the padding on the floor.

· You are also welcome to bring a healthy snack or drink to share. There will be an area for snacking and contributions are appreciated! (No alcohol please.)

INTOXICANTS

Please arrive and remain sober throughout the event.

If you feel safe enough to cuddle you may find yourself getting a natural high on oxytocin. Plan a relaxing Sunday if possible.
