Class: The Pleasure Talk

Join us for an interactive workshop on creating safer sex and more pleasurable connections through awesome communication!

"The Talk" has taken many forms with many names over the years, with frameworks for navigating safer sex and healthy boundaries including Dr. Evelin Molina Dacker's "STARS" & Reid Mihalko's "Elevator Speech", among others. This class builds upon skills learned using these tools, and offers an updated framework created by and for our Sex Positive community. You can use The Pleasure Talk in your own relationships, at our events, and anywhere you find yourself in intimate connections with others.

This curriculum has been the collaborative product of many sexy minds from SexPositive World and two of our chapters - Los Angeles and Portland - and we're excited to continue to improve it with your feedback. Please fill out the survey after the event so we can get your input!

What to expect

This workshop will be very interactive with opportunities for discussion as a whole group and to practice the pieces of the talk with other attendees. You'll meet the facilitators at the start, we'll set some guidelines for the event, we'll introduce the talk, and then go through the three parts of the talk, followed by an opportunity to practice each in small groups. We will also have a bio break about halfway through. As with all of our workshops, you can always opt out of any activity at any time and you don't even need a reason :-).

• About the venue: There are 6 steps with railing to get into the house, and no steps inside.
• Please show up ON TIME so we can begin the workshop as punctually as possible. <3

• This is a wonderful event to bring a guest who is also interested in SexPositive Portland and/or sex-positivity in general! Members at the time of attendance receive credit for this class towards leveling up. If you are not yet a member, register as a public attendee via our website, so we have your name and attendance documented if you wish to apply for membership and have your attendance count toward your leveling journey.
