Speed Friending Halloween Potluck with a Spooky Twist! 

We're taking speed friending to a whole new level this month. Join us on Monday, October 16th at the eerie and enchanting Belvederes Ultra-Dive. Arrive early to mingle and embrace the Halloween spirit, then prepare to meet intriguing new friends right at the witching hour, promptly at 8 pm EST! Even if you prefer to spectate from the shadows, you're welcome to join the fun whenever you feel comfortable.

WHAT TO EXPECT: 

Speed Friending: Get ready to meet a hauntingly diverse group of friendly faces. Our unique speed friending sessions will have you making new friends faster than a witch on a broomstick!

Potluck Delights: It's not just about making friends; it's about sharing delicious food too! Bring your favorite creepy-crawly dish to our potluck, and together, we'll create a feast to die for. Share recipes, swap cooking tales, and savor a ghoulishly good meal.

Spine-Chilling Music: After the speed friending, we will play some tunes that will send shivers down your spine.

HOW SPEED FRIENDING GETS SPOOKY (and a word about hauntingly good consent)

All you need to bring is your eerie enthusiasm! Our host will guide you to your designated spot, and as the clock strikes, they'll pose spine-chilling questions to the entire room. You and your chosen partner will have a wickedly fast two minutes to discuss each question before moving on to the next, and a new acquaintance awaits you at each turn.

It's a fang-tastic way to unearth the real you, engaging in conversations that defy the ordinary. In a world where the old ways of connecting seem as outdated as a cobwebbed mansion, we're here to revive and redefine the experience. We encourage you to be your authentic, weird, and wonderfully awkward self! Be direct, share your deepest secrets, or shroud yourself in mystery – this is a safe and empowering space to connect with kindred spirits.

WHERE IS IT?

We will be hosting this event at Belvederes Ultra-Dive! This is a lovely queer-friendly space in Lawrenceville, PA that offers great drinks, music, and pool tables, with plenty of space to connect.

WHAT IS CNM?

CNM or Consensual Non-Monogomy (which can also be known as expansive relationships, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), polyamory, relationship anarchy, swinging, or open relationships) refers to any relationship dynamic in which people consent to pursue sexual, romantic, or alternative connections with multiple people. Relationship dynamics are different for everybody, and we want to create a space to learn more and get to know other people who are exploring it too.

WHO IS RUNNING SPEED FRIENDING?

Just me! My name is Trisha Swindell. Nice to meet you, if we haven’t met already.

I sometimes have the help of other volunteers at my events, so you may interact with other wonderful and vetted folx, as well.

I used to contract with the social app Bloom as both an event organizer and graphic designer. I am no longer under contract with Bloom, but I am still posting some of the events there. They are not paying me and have never paid me for any events I have hosted in Pittsburgh.

IS THIS EVENT FREE?

Attending the ENM Social Club is still free — and it always will be.

I have a suggested donation of $10 for the speed friending portion because it turns out it is a LOT of work to organize, vet, and run the event safely for everybody. But I will also continue to offer free tickets for anyone who could not otherwise afford to attend.

WHAT IS "3RD PLACE"?

You may see some of my events listed on Eventbrite, Fetlife, Facebook, or Bloom under the organization “3rd Place”. This is Trisha’s own brand that is currently in the beginning stages of operation. (How exciting!) I am hoping to create a space for community events and have as many free-to-the-public options as possible. Let me know if you have any questions!
