Hygge means "a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being."

"Hyggehiking" is my own special blend, where we engage in that conviviality while trekking through green spaces throughout our city.

I host Hygge gatherings so we can come together to make new friends, discuss fun projects we're eager to work on, dive into deep, thoughtful discussions, and meet people who can help make NYC feel like a smaller, closer-knit community. We bring our friends, family, coworkers, anyone we think would enjoy meeting new people and coming across friendly and familiar faces.

For Saturday June 17th, I've designed a day of parks, waterfronts, deep conversations, and people watching.

ITINERARY

12-2pm — Fort Greene Park

➡️ Gather together. Share stories and snacks. Stretch / yoga / dance.

2-3pm — Metrotech Walk, Columbus Park, Korean War Veterans Plaza, Cadman Plaza Park, Devoción Cafe.

➡️ Park crawl + caffeinate. Pet some local doggos.

3-6pm — John Street Park, Bridge Park, Empire Fulton Ferry Park, Time Out Market New York

➡️ Great views and great foods. We'll probably witness a marriage or two.

6-9pm — Brooklyn Bridge Park Greenway, BBP Pier 2 Field, BBP Pier 3 Plaza, BBP Pier 6 Liberty Lawn for sunset

➡️ Last time I wandered these waterfront greenways I encountered a giant hawk. Expect good people watching, city views, and a variety of nooks and activities. We'll close out the evening with some deeper conversations and waterfront relaxation.

Here's my Google Maps list of the specific parks and places we'll traverse: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fw4husbg4YNAPyLf6?g_st=ia

All in, we'll have hit up ~9 NYC parks and 2-3 cafes in a single day! This gathering is open invite. If we're lucky, it may include a silent disco.
