An intimate all levels affinity space for practice, play, and connection for BIPOC folks.

EVENT DETAILS:

MAY'S TOPIC: Exploring Identity + Self Expression

This is monthly community event and dedicated affinity space for the BIPOC community members. During this event we will explore authentic connecting and relating, soft skills, identifying and following curiosities, and open space for practice, play and consensual connection.

Organized + facilitated by Self Study by euni, co-hosted by black, brown, indigenous members in our collective community. We will have introductions and a guided dialog, reviewing of house rules, co-creation of shared agreements and intentions, and information sharing including establishing ethical and consensual connection before open practice + play space begins. Within this space, we will practice identifying and finding our boundaries and openness that allow us to find safety in our explorations.

Each month we will highlight a different topic during our connection hour and then guests will be invited to lab, play, or hang out in ways that feel aligned to them for the remainder of the time.

*Note: To expand a sense of safety and create a container that can allow all people to explore more fluidly, it's requested for you to arrive (15) minutes before the event's start time so that we can ground into the space, review community agreements, and co-create safety + connection in shared space.

All BIPOC + QTBIPOC folks are welcome. This is an all skill level event - and if you're new, this is a great way to get your feet wet!

Feel free to bring a dish, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages to share with the group.

Community events at The Rope Collective are donation based. Suggested donation $15- $25. Donations contribute to the studio operational costs and are available for financial reciprocity for our hosts of the events.

RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING:

Wear clothing that allows you to feel comfortable, empowered or expressive. This is a non-sexual open practice and play space and all guests will be encouraged to come in clothing that comfortable and/or expressive in ways that feel good to them but required to keep under garments on and pelvic area covered.

Please bring anything else that allows you to feel comfortable and we ask that you limit usage of strong perfumes/aromas to support a variety of sensory needs. Here's a list of items we use throughout most of our events, classes + workshops that will support your experience.

Pack list:

• Rope, safety sheers, and/or implements that you'd like to practice/play with in the space

• mat/blanket

• jacket/sweater + layers for varying comfort needs and temperatures

• notepad /pen

• water + snacks

*We will have some implements and rope, mats, blankets, pillows, snacks + NA beverages and items for sale through our shop.
