Non-Binary & Black: A Beginner's Snapshot

Got 30 minutes and a desire to learn more about the intersection of black and non-binary identities? We've got you! Pay what you can.

In rising conversations of inclusion, many people are doing important work to show up for Black lives and ensure trans representation and empowerment. That said, conversations about Black non-binary individuals are far less common. The resulting ignorance contributes to a hostile world for our Black non-binary peers. Knowledge is critical in creating a world that is affirming. This special Juneteenth version of our 30 minute mini-webinar, “Non-Binary Basics”, helps those who are new to non-binary identities understand the basics. Participants will be provided with a brief overview of terminology, cultural-historical context, and best practices to ensure Black non-binary people are respected and valued.

As a result of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Accurately define the gender binary
• Accurately define Intersectionality
• Name three common challenges Black non-binary people face in the world
• Describe two action steps that can be take to better support and affirm Black non-binary people

We understand that COVID has tossed a lot people's finances into long term flux and we want to make our courses accessible. We are operating from a place of inviting folks to pay what you can. Suggested range: $15 - 75. Suggested minimum: $8.
