  • Hosted by Straya Sun
  • Austin, TX -

*must register in advance on eventbrite, this event typically sells out*

Explore rope as a tool to heal wounds around with other womxn (sister, mother, etc.) in a supportive space.

Are you curious about Shibari but feel safer learning in a womxn only space?

Perhaps you recognize opportunities within yourself for healing wounds related to other womxn?

Healing the wounds with our sisters is a rebellious thing to do in today's world- a world that has incited rifts and competitive behaviors so that we stay disempowered. So let's join together and utilize this amazing tool to connect to our fellow sisters, heal our wounds with other womxn, and rise up in our power.

“Sister Wound Shibari” - is a way to utilize rope to create somatic release. Through bind and release an individual is tied and able to experience a heightened state of surrender within a safe and compassionate space. These ropes allow the expression of emotion in a unique way, giving our body permission to witness and notice aspects of ourselves that we would not have otherwise had available to us in everyday settings.

This will be a consent-based space, where voyeurism is considered participation. We will go over the necessary components of consent and the foundations of setting a safe container for rope play. By pairing up with other womxn we’ll be able to explore and invite in healing for any inhibitions or blocks we have experiencing consensual platonic touch and care by another womxn. Be prepared for a transformational and memorable healing experience.

There will be a guided meditation to "drop-in", opening circle with agreements, demos and lessons taught as well as exercises to practice, each building upon the next. This is a space that encourages you to fully express yourself, experience community with supportive people and discover tools/techniques that can benefit you and your life. Snacks will be provided.

Who this is for:

+Womxn Identifying/ Femme Bodied Individuals looking to develop themselves through the lens of community, vulnerability, and platonic intimacy.

+Womxn looking to experience connection with like-minded individuals.

+Womxn who value consent, acceptance, having an open mind, and looking to uplevel in relationships, communication, and life.

Sign up with a friend, or come independently. The ties taught can also be performed with oneself. This is a consent-based and trauma-informed space, no one is under any obligation to do anything at any time. Voyeurism is considered participation.
