This class will be focused on gaining mobility in your hips and mobilizing the low spine to make hip loaders, gun slingers + other hip ties.
This event will take place at The Rope Collective Studio in Barrio Logan, San Diego. Visit the Contact + Location tab of our website for studio access information.
This class will be focused on gaining mobility in your shoulders and mobilizing the upper back to make chest harnesses more comfortable. No worries if you have no gym equipment, you’ll only need your rope, a wall, and to be a willing participant. Come loosen those tight hips and spines at the first ever Rope Clinic by The Rope Collective. It’ll be good for those not new to rope but new to mobility.
About your facilitators:
Dean: Certified for 8.5 years specializing in strength and functional training with disabilities and injuries. They want to teach you mobility to make your favorite rope ties more accessible.
submissivetiger: submissivetiger is a rope artist, performer, educator, community event organizer. Her focus is on modifications in rope for every body, creating liberating experiences and connection with rope, informed consent, negotiation, and aftercare as the medium. Her style is a balance of sensual and primal expression.
NOT FOR THOSE WITH NO ROPE EXPERIENCE - we will not be covering foundational rope information or covering technical patterns or ties.
Please come prepared with a hip harness or leg tie of your choice.
RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING:
Wear clothing that allows you to feel comfortable, empowered or expressive. This is not a play party and all guests will be encouraged to come in clothing that comfortable and/or expressive in ways that feel good to them but required to keep under garments on and pelvic area covered. We suggest something that you might wear to move freely without feeling restricted. Separate top and bottom that allows you to expose legs, arms, and belly may feel good for the interactive portions of this workshop but is optional.
Please bring anything else that allows you to feel comfortable and we ask that you limit usage of strong perfumes/aromas to support a variety of sensory needs. Here's a list of items we use throughout most of our events, classes + workshops that will support your experience.
• jacket/sweater + layers for varying comfort needs and temperatures
• 1-2 hanks of rope + safety shears/cutting instrument
• notepad /pen
• water + snacks
*We have mats, blankets, pillows, safety sheers, snacks + NA beverages, and clean rope to borrow and for sale.
