This event will take place at The Rope Collective Studio in Barrio Logan, San Diego. Visit the Contact + Location tab of our website for studio access information.

EVENT DETAILS:

In this class we will learn three fundamental harnesses that allow for floor play while also providing the safety necessary for full suspension. We will focus on a chest harness, futomomo, and booty basket.

PREREQUISITES: This class is open to all familiar with the basics of tying but participants must be familiar with single and double column ties.

Taught by Calba: With a background in community-centered collective practices, Calba approach to rope and bookbinding is rooted in intimacy, storytelling, and connection. As with binding books, and binding bodies, they focus on the ways we can liberate legacies of intergenerational trauma through embodied restraint and sharing story. Calba centers inclusivity in their rope and values the opportunity to learn and navigate new approaches and strategies to create avenues of access to everyone.
